Privacy Policy

The short version

Stakkr doesn't collect, store, or share your personal data. That's it.

What Stakkr does

Stakkr reads the barcode on your CD case with your iPhone's camera. The barcode is read on your device. Stakkr looks up the barcode in the Discogs database to identify the album, then finds the same album in Apple's music catalogue. You check each album, and Stakkr adds the ones you confirm to your Apple Music library. Stakkr does not keep a history of your scans.

What we collect

Nothing. Stakkr does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

Third party services

Stakkr uses two external services to function:

Discogs: to identify the album. Every barcode you scan is sent to Discogs. Discogs privacy policy: discogs.com/privacy

Apple: to find the album in Apple Music and add it to your library. Stakkr sends the barcode to Apple's search service. If that doesn't find the album, it also sends the artist and album title from Discogs. Adding albums to your library is handled by Apple. Apple privacy policy: apple.com/privacy

Stakkr sends no name, account or device identifier to either service. Like any website, they can see your device's IP address.

Your music data

Stakkr accesses your Apple Music library only to add albums you have scanned and confirmed. It does not read, store, or share your existing library data.
